Huawei Accused of Hacking Indian Telecoms Company BSNL

Huawei allegedly hacked into the systems of India's BSNL

Indian officials say that Huawei has allegedly hacked into the systems of India’s state-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).

According to Reuters, an investigation has been launched, but no details are available at this time, other than the fact that a BSNL mobile base station controller has been targeted.

Huawei representatives have denied the allegations, saying that the company’s Indian branch continues to work with customers and the government to “address any network security issue that may arise in technical and business operations.”

The company has often been accused of conducting espionage on behalf of the Chinese government, particularly in the US, but it has always denied being involved in such activities.
